Online Sales Surge For Bed Bath & Beyond

Digital comp sales grow 89% in Q2

Bed Bath & Beyond reported the first sales growth in almost four years, largely led by a surge in online business.

The retail giant is undergoing an end-to-end modernization of its technology infrastructure, adopting new services like Buy-Online-Pickup-InStore (BOPIS) and curbside pickup. With quarantine – making online the only channel – the urgency of digital transformation becomes more critical.

“When home is everything, we’re really poised to be the epicenter of that,” CEO Mark Tritton told CNBC.

As part of the company’s ongoing efforts to supercharge its e-commerce experience, Bed Bath & Beyond partnered with WompMobile to launch AMP-enabled search results, which guarantees mobile performance and caters to customers shopping from handheld devices.

From search, AMP listings load in less than a second, grabbing a customer’s attention – the most precious resource on mobile. AMP-enabled pages adhere to Google best practices and deliver the performance that mobile-shoppers demand.

WompMobile manages 70-million AMP pages, and on average clients see a 29% increase to mobile-organic traffic.
